Brian Altobello, a retired history teacher and leader of the World War II Discussion Group, will discuss the oral histories of two Japanese soldiers – one a student kamikaze pilot who made New Orleans his home after the war and the other a Japanese army officer who spoke of his training to harden him for war.

The World War II Discussion Group, headed by local teacher and historian Brian Altobello, meets the first Thursday of every month to discuss the events of the 1930s and 1940s. Free and open to the public; registration is not required.
