Citizenship Class - Language Exempt

Description:
 This course prepares participants to take the examinations, both oral and written, for U.S. Citizenship. Students follow a workbook with lessons in American History, Geography and Civics. In addition, students have to be prepared to answer questions about their own backgrounds, their families and travel over the past five years.

Classes address:
• The application procedure
• American government
• American history
• The U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence
• The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) interview procedure

Classes at the North Kenner Branch Library are split into two segments – Level 2 and Level 3 – based on language skills. Each class meets twice per week. Free of charge and open to the public.
