Jefferson Parish officials will be present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. to educate, discuss and answer questions about the upcoming election on Saturday, April 29 to renew the 6.5 mill library levy.

The meetings occur from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13 at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie, and from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14 at the Jane O’Brien Chatelain West Bank Regional Library, 2751 Manhattan, Harvey.

Each event is free of charge and is open to the public. There is no registration.

The operations and maintenance of the library system are fully funded through a parish-wide millage. This is a millage renewal it is not a new tax or a tax increase.

The library receives no sales tax receipts and is totally dependent on its dedicated property tax levy for its operating and capital expenditures for the two regional libraries and 16 branches in unincorporated areas as well as the municipalities.
