This event is free of charge and is open to the public. Registration is not required. This presentation is sponsored by the BA in International Studies Program at UNO and the Turkish American Association of Louisiana. Bulent Alizira is the founding director of the Turkey Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, D.C. He has lectured widely in the United States, Europe and Turkey and is a frequent media commentator on Turkish domestic politics. Prior to joining CSIS, Dr. Alizira was a senior associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and had previously served as a Turkish Cypriot diplomat in New York and Washington. The presentation is part of the programming of the World Affairs Council of New Orleans. The World Affairs Council of New Orleans seeks to increase the community’s awareness of global issues and to further international understanding through educational and social forums with a commitment to diversity and inclusive fellowship. It is a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization dedicated to presenting diverse views on a variety of international topics.
