The Jefferson Parish Library hosts an “open mic night” for poets and other spoken word performers at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 24, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

The featured poet is Lakisha Hubbard-Williams, M.Ed., who is the author of two books of poetry, Emotionally Challenged and The Power of Words.

Poets who attend the event sign in and then recite their poetry to the audience. This event is sponsored by the Greater New Orleans chapter of the Louisiana Poetry Society.
