This event is free of charge and is open to the public. There is no registration. Every 10 years, the U.S. Census Bureau undertakes the task of tallying up all the people living in the United States and recording basic information such as age, sex and race. The Founding Fathers thought this data, referred to as the census, was so important they mandated it as part of the Constitution. Census records can help paint a picture of the lives of ancestors with details such as: Date of birth and death; where they lived; who they lived with; what they did for a living; Extended family members, such as elderly parents and in-laws who also live in the home; and relatives living next door or nearby. During this seminar, Kelley will demonstrate databases such as Ancestry Library Edition.com and Heritagequest Online.
