Antique Clock and Watch Seminar | |

Event Type: Adults Age Group(s): Adults Date: 10/21/2017 Start Time: 10:00 AM End Time: 1:30 PM Description: Members of Local Creole Chapter #43, a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors will conduct an informational seminar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, at the East Bank Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

The event is free of charge and is open to the public. This event also will include a clock repair workshop, beginning at 11 a.m., will involve inspection, disassembly, cleaning and repair of an antique clock movement. Patrons may bring old clocks and watches to the library and members of the Watch and Clock Collectors Club will identify it, tell who made it and when, and provide a history of the collectable. Patrons who cannot bring a watch or clock should try to bring pictures or other information. There will be several antique clocks on display, including: clocks with wooden gears; school house clocks; clocks which not only tell the time, but also the month/day/date; ships clocks; car clocks; and unusual novelty clocks. There will also be reference books and other publications associated with watches and clocks.
