 Michelle Norwood, a notary public since 2012, will present “The Louisiana Notary Public” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19 at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

Norwood says the purpose of the presentation is to learn about the role of the Louisiana notary public and what a notary can do.

During the presentation, Norwood will discuss the following topics.
1. History of the Louisiana Notary
2. Differences between the powers of the Louisiana Notary Public vs notaries in other states
3. Family related document review (Mandate-formerly Power of Attorney, Notarial Emancipation, Provisional Custody Mandate)
4. Steps to become a Louisiana Notary

Michelle Norwood has been a Louisiana Notary Public since 2012. She studied journalism at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond and received a bachelor’s degree in Drama and Communications from the University of New Orleans. She earned a master’s degree in Social Work from Southern University at New Orleans and is a Licensed Master Social worker. Norwood provides mobile notary services and pursues her passion of education by presenting notary education seminars.
