The Louisiana Diabetes Collaborative is a group of individuals committed to reducing the incidence and prevalence of diabetes in the state of Louisiana by working to increase access to diabetes prevention programs and diabetes self-management/education programs in all parishes across the state. The group meets quarterly to discuss their goals, objectives and work group activities. The group meets free of charge and is open to the public.


Kate Andrus is the current Diabetes Prevention Manager with the Louisiana Department of Health. She previously has worked as a Public Health Nutritionist with the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in both Florida and Louisiana and was an Obesity Prevention Grants Coordinator for the Department of State Health Services in Austin, Texas.
