Event Type: Adults
Age Group(s): Adults
Date: 5/19/2018
Start Time: 2:30 PM
End Time: 4:00 PM
Description:
Podcaster Thomas Smith will discuss various issues regarding humanism at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

This event is free of charge and is open to the public.

Smith will address humanism versus atheism and what he's observed as the differences between the two.

Thomas Smith is a professional podcaster who began his career in 2010 when he set out to read the entire Bible from an atheist perspective in podcast form. In the beginning, Smith said the Bible was entertaining, but then he said it turned into a tedious and confusing endeavor. He eventually finished that project in 2016, but not before launching a few other podcasts that are now his focus and living.

"Serious Inquiries Only" features discussions on news, politics, philosophy, science and skepticism. "Opening Arguments" is a legal podcast with partner and Harvard Law graduate Andrew Torrez which seeks to explain the complex legal issues of the day in an accessible and accurate way.
