Event Type: Adults Age Group(s): Adults Date: 7/21/2018 Start Time: 2:30 PM End Time: 4:30 PM Description: Barbara Forrest, former board NOSHA board member and retired professor of philosophy at Southeastern University, will discuss “Why 'Academic Freedom' Is a Fraud: The Threat to Science Education,” at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, July 21 at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie. She will the Discovery Institute's promotion of its "academic freedom" model bill, a version of which became the Louisiana Science Education Act in 2008. She will also discuss the state of academic freedom today.
