Abstract This class is designed to assist librarians, public health workers, health professionals, and the general public in locating authoritative information on nutrition and topics relating to nutrition. Background information on the importance of nutrition information to other health-related topics will be included, and resources for locating nutrition-related statistics and evidence-based practice will also be identified. This class has been adapted to be taught in-person and online, ranging from a 1-hour online class to a 4-hour in-person class. Please see individual class instances in order to determine class length and mode of delivery. Objectives At the conclusion of the class, participants will be able to: •Understand the relationship of the topic of nutrition to health outcomes, diseases, and conditions. •Gain a basic understanding of nutrition vocabulary and identify sources for definitions of relevant terms. •Identify important Internet sites for locating nutrition information. •Identify additional resources which provide print resources on nutrition topics. This class also qualifies for credits towards the Consumer Health Information Specialization.
