WACNO - Vincent Sciama, new Consul General for France

 Vincent Sciama, Consul General of France in Louisiana, will present “Franco–American Relations: Will Macron Make Ties Great Again?” at 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 West Napoleon Avenue, Metairie.

This event is free of charge and is open to the public. Registration is not required.

Appointed by the President of the French Republic, Vincent Sciama assumed his duties as Consul General of France in Louisiana in August 2017. He previously served as the Chargé de Mission with the Director of the United Nations, and the Chief of Staff of the Minister for the Development of French.

Joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2006, he has focused on questions of sustainable development, health, and the promotion of the French language at the Permanent Mission of France of the United Nations, first in Geneva, then in Paris. He also served in the press department at the Ministry as the Deputy to the Spokesperson of the Quai d’Orsay (2015-2016).

A graduate of Sciences-Po in Paris (Institute of political studies), Vincent Sciama has a passion for literature and music (especially piano), and for Asia, having lived in China and Singapore.

The World Affairs Council of New Orleans, a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization dedicated to presenting diverse views on a variety of international topics, was founded in 1944. WACNO offers its members and their guests monthly programs and activities featuring prominent speakers from both the U.S. and abroad.
