This event is free of charge and is open to the public. There is no registration. Edible flowers are flowers that can be consumed safely. Flowers are part of many regional cuisines. During this presentation, Abbott will discuss how to use them in food preparation. She will talk about specific types of flowers that are used in food preparation, including violets, sage flowers, roses, nasturtiums, pansies, lavender, hibiscus, zucchini blossoms, and calendula. Abbott also will discuss how to pick flowers that have not been sprayed with pesticides or other chemicals.
