Carolyn Kolb, PhD, conducts a six-week series on the History of Jefferson Parish.

Carolyn Kolb’s column in New Orleans magazine is titled “Chronicles of Recent History.” Her book, New Orleans Memories: One Writer’s City, began as a series of those columns. She teaches at Tulane’s School of Professional Advancement, and has written several guidebooks to the city. She holds a doctoral degree in Urban Studies/Urban History from the University of New Orleans. She was once a reporter for The New Orleans Times-Picayune and served as director of the New Orleans Jazz Museum. She is a native of New Orleans.
