Liz Weiman, author and entrepreneur, discusses and demonstrates points from her new book 100+ iPhone/iPad Tricks You Can Do Right Now at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

This presentation occurs at part of the regularly scheduled meeting of Krewe de Tech, an organization that helps people understand their electronic gadgets. It is free of charge and open to the public.

Weiman will discuss apps such as Camera, Photos, iMessage, Stocks, Siri, and many more features that are important to know about. She will provide hands-on experiences for many of the tricks listed in the book. Each of the 100+ tricks are set up as "recipes," accompanied by detailed instructions and background context.

Weiman has been in the business of empowering people for more than 20 years and has trained thousands of individuals. She says that making my students’ lives easier is the most rewarding career there is.

She has taught computer (PC/Mac) and iPhone/iPad classes for the past 15 years at "The Women’s Institute of Houston" - a non-profit continuing education school that offers diverse courses taught by experts in their fields and professors from area universities. She has also worked as an instructional designer, project manager, documentation content manager and technical writer for oil companies such as Schlumberger and technology giants such as Hewlett-Packard.
