The events occur at the following times and dates. 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019 – Part One Jefferson Parish – From Prehistoric Times to the Louisiana Purchase and Parish Formation 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019 – Part Two Jefferson Parish Up to 1875 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019 – Part Three Kenner, Gretna, Crevasses, Agriculture, the WPA – World War II 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2019 – Part Four Suburbanization, the 1950s – Politics, Expansion and Industry 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019 – Part Five Twentieth Century Life: Family Life, Politics, Politicians and Sports 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019 – Part Six Jefferson Parish in the Recent Past and Today: Parks, Artists, Writers and Government Carolyn Kolb’s column in New Orleans magazine is titled “Chronicles of Recent History.” Her book, New Orleans Memories: One Writer’s City, began as a series of those columns. She teaches at Tulane’s School of Professional Advancement, and has written several guidebooks to the city. She holds a doctoral degree in Urban Studies/Urban History from the University of New Orleans. She was once a reporter for The New Orleans Times-Picayune and served as director of the New Orleans Jazz Museum. She is a native of New Orleans.
