 Carolyn Kolb, PhD, a local historian and history professor, will lead a six-part series titled “The History of Jefferson Parish,” beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the West Bank Regional Library, 2781 Manhattan Blvd., Harvey.

These presentations are free of charge and open to the public. There is no registration.

Jefferson Parish in the Recent Past and Today: Parks, Artists, Writers and Government

Carolyn Kolb’s column in New Orleans magazine is titled “Chronicles of Recent History.” Her book, New Orleans Memories: One Writer’s City, began as a series of those columns. She teaches at Tulane’s School of Professional Advancement, and has written several guidebooks to the city. She holds a doctoral degree in Urban Studies/Urban History from the University of New Orleans. She was once a reporter for The New Orleans Times-Picayune and served as director of the New Orleans Jazz Museum. She is a native of New Orleans.
