 Melinda Bourgeois, will discuss travel trends for 2020 at 7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 13, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon. Metairie.

This event is free of charge and is open to the public. This is not a sales event.

According to Bourgeois, U.S. domestic travel increased 1.9 percent from 2017 to a total of 2.3 billion person-trips in 2018. Domestic leisure travel increased 2.0 percent in 2018 to 1.8 billion person-trips. Leisure travel accounted for 80 percent of all U.S. domestic travel in 2018.

During this presentation, Bourgeois will discuss the following.

• Weekend trips and short getaways
• Food tourism
• New trends in cruise travel
• River cruises and small ships
