 Representatives from funeralconsumer.org will conduct a seminar, “Nine Things Every Senior Needs to Know About Funerals,” at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

This event is free of charge and is open to the public. There is no registration.

This is not a sales meeting.

During this presentation, the following will be discussed.
• Discussion of the Funeral Rule of 1984 and how it protects consumers.
• Costs associated with funerals.
• Pros and cons of final expense life insurance.
• Costs: the cemetery plot; grave opening and closing fees; obituary fees; grave markers, monuments and headstones; urns; shipping remains for burial elsewhere.

Participants will leave with various checklists that are designed to guide one through the process of paying for a funeral service.
