Description:
Anne Gillis, the foremost expert on the concept of ease, will speak at the monthly meeting of the Theosophy and Self-Transformation Discussion Group, at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

This event is free of charge and is open to the public. There is no registration.

Gillis is the founder of EZosophy, a philosophy examines the suffering that glues together western culture. Unfortunately, the operating system that holds ego driven struggle in place is like Elmer's glue.

“EZosophy steers us away from ego into the ease of life,” she says. “Ease is a non-efforting approach to living. Ease is not indolence or laziness. Ease removes the struggle; ease associates with living in the flow of life. Until we assimilate the ease of our being, we create struggle in all areas of our lives.”

Gillis says that she achieved her material goals by the age of 24 and found herself living the empty life of the American Dream. In 1984, she cofounded Connection Church (Center for Spiritual Growth) in Memphis, and served as the senior spiritual guide until 1998, before moving to Houston.

She says her humor and frivolity set her aside from many teachers. She believes she is sincere, but not serious. Gillis contends that life is not as hard as we make it; it is time to lighten up and enjoy life. “Our work and lives are an expression of love, not a chance to punish ourselves with relentless doing.”
