JPAS Presents A Mousetrap Whodunnit

Event Type: Adults
Age Group(s): Adults
Date: 1/23/2020
Start Time: 9:30 AM
End Time: 11:30 AM
Description:
JPAS Presents: A Mousetrap Whodunit! will occur from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Jan. 22 and 23, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie

This event is free of charge and is open to the public.

Detective Sergeant Trotter from the cast of Jefferson Performing Arts Society’s production of The Mousetrap will read The Four Suspects, a short story within The Thirteen Problems, one of Agatha Christie’s short story collections. The Thirteen Problems are the earliest stories Christie wrote featuring Miss Marple.

Following the read-aloud, Sergeant Trotter will lead the audience in an interactive game of "Whodunit, 7 Up" devised by JPAS. Audiences will be invited to the JPAS Arts Adventure Series performance of The Mousetrap (includes a complementary Study Companion for educators).

The Mousetrap is a murder mystery play by Agatha Christie. The Mousetrap opened in London's West End in 1952, and has been running continuously since then. The longest-running West End show, it has by far the longest initial run of any play in history, with its 25,000th performance taking place on 18 November 2012. The play has a twist ending, which the audience are traditionally asked not to reveal after leaving the theatre.
