The Camellia Club of New Orleans meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month. It’s part of the American Camellia Society, a national membership organization dedicated to fostering appreciation for and knowledge of plants in the genus camellia. The society: sponsors a variety of education activities; offers various publications; helps sponsor scientific research; sanctions camellia flower shows and accredits camellia show judges, and oversee varietal registration of new camellia cultivars.
