Phyllis Lawton Cosentino, a genealogy instructor in the People Program for many years, will lead a presentation titled "Can DNA help you climb over your brick walls?" at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Old Metairie Library, 2350 Metairie Road. The theory is that despite the best research efforts, it seems impossible to locate that elusive ancestor in any records. Thatís where DNA comes in. Itís a powerful tool that can help break through the brick walls in order to find ancestors on the other side.

The mission of the Jefferson Genealogical Society is to promote genealogical research through meetings and activities which provide contact with professional genealogists and historians, the opportunity for members to share their experiences, and preservation of genealogical materials and media.
