Start Time: 9:30 AM

Description:
Pamela Ebel, a local author and lawyer, will present “Long Story Short: Why and How to Write and Market Short Fiction Stories,” at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 20, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie.

This event is free of charge and is open to the public. There is no registration.

Many writers, Ebel says, begin small with short stories and work their way up to large works of fiction, and she says this strategy makes sense. This seminar focuses on creating a strategic plan with the goal of getting published by starting with smaller works of fiction.

Ebel writes novels, short stories and poetry of mystery, suspense and Tall Tales from the crossroads of America. Her careers have included lawyer, university professor, law school associate dean, owner and producer of continuing education courses for lawyers. Her poetry has appeared in the Delta Poetry Review. Her short stories appeared in various publications. Three of her stories were published in the 2020 BOULD AWARDS anthology that launched on Amazon last November, with one of the stories taking second place. She also serves as vice president of the New Orleans’ chapter of Woman’s National Book Association.
