Event Type: JP Library Event Age Group(s): Adults Date: 4/6/2024 Start Time: 1:00 PM End Time: 4:00 PM Description: “An Afternoon Tour of Scotland" occurs from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, April 6, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon, Metairie. This event is a multi-station interactive program in which patrons take a pretend ride on the Train the "Flying Scotsman" - now refurbished and operating again. Library visitors will follow a train schedule for nine stations where they learn something about Scottish heritage - Land of Clans and Tartan; Top Pubs and Scotch; Piping Academy; Children's Village; Top Tourist Attractions; Spiritual Scotland; Robert Burns Land; Kilts and Weapons; Scottish Dance Village. At the top of each hour, Piper Bob Grubb will play two popular bagpipe tunes. On each half hour, the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society.
