"Conquering the Job Application Process" with Bryan Cascio

Description:
 Bryan Cascio, a senior manager of software engineering at General Electric, will lead an eight-week series titled “Conquering the Job Application Process,” in April, May and June, at the Live Oak Library, 125 Acadia Drive, Waggaman.

This event is free of charge and open to the public. There is no registration.

Bryan Cascio says he has a passion for mentoring new developers, leading people in research and development style projects, and helping those around him gain experience through new opportunities.

Prior to becoming a manager, he worked as a software engineer wearing almost every hat in the Software Development Lifecycle. He recently moved to New Orleans with his wife so she could attend law school at Loyola University.

Cascio holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Louisiana State University. He enjoys all nerdy activities, playing team sports, and helping others improve their skills.

• Group activity (time permitting) - 1on1 resume review
Week 4 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 21
• Resume reviews
• Group activity - 1on1 resume review, or 1on1 elevator pitch reviews
Week 5 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, May 28
• Interviewing skills and advice
• Group activity
• Elevator interviews - 1on1 interviews using behavioral questions
Week 6 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 4
• Interviewing recap
• Group activity – 1 on 1 interviews
Week 7 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 11
• Panel interview skills and advice
• Group activity - lightning panels (groups of 3-4 people taking turns being the interviewers and the interviewees)
Week 8 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, June 18
• Recap week - Resume reviews; elevator interviews; lightning panels
